Great blog Kim!
I’m using your list as a point of reference for a dinner I have with some gal pals on Monday!
Happy bloggin’
M-A
http://www.adventuresofma.wordpress.com
M-A, thanks my lady! Where did you end up going? Hope you enjoyed.
It’s been eons since i have seen you, but i noticed the link in your FB updates and needed to check it out…. very impressive lady! I too have the obsession with food (which is obvious on me for those who know me….). should you ever need a partner in crime on your epicurious expedtions, count me in!
your list has some of my favourites, some i am really wanting to try and some that require more research…
if i may, might i recommend nyood (roger mooking’s queen west creation). though the paella was laking the crispy, almost burnt part at the bottom, the calamari might have been the most tender i have ever had… and they weren’t fried, which is usually my only way to eat them, so that says a lot…
also, while it’s doesn’t get written up very often, Pantheon on the danforth is the best greek in the city in my humble opinion… i’m usually the only non-greek person there, which says something for authenticity…..
hope you’re doing well otherwise! i’ll be back to read more of your thoughts:)
Diana – Oh yes, absolutely. Pls provide recos…especially personal favourites! Endless options, and missing lots…will definitely add Nyood & Pantheon. And if you think of other category suggestions, let me know. So glad you’re enjoying! It’s been far too long, hope you’re doing well :)
So where shall we go for our next din-din darling? See you in a couple weeks, lots of news to share… over some super yum dinner!
Smiles.
I found your blog through Foodspotting and I think it’ll take me a while to digest all of it. I know, bad pun :P
That’s quite a list of restaurants! Are those all of the restaurants that you’ve tried? If so then all I can say is WOW!
Keep up the great work and eat your way across the city.
Cheers,
Zeekid
Thanks Z! Love that last line…yes, personal mission to eat my way across the city. About 75% through this list..scary or impressive, take your pick ;)
I think it’s impressive and I’m jealous for your friends that get to join you!
By the way, if you liked Pizzeria Libretto you should try out Queen Margherita Pizza. It’s as good as Libretto even if it’s not as fancy.
Another place to add to your list might be Earth. Chef McKenna’s menu, while relatively casual, is quite yummy. I particularly liked his French onion soup that used elk and brie cheese. Yum!
I Love your blog! I check in every once in a while to see what you’re recomending :-) I’m pretty sure my dad is reading it now too! just made a reservation at 7 numbers for my moms birthday next week, I’ll let you know what we think, but I”m pretty excited so I foresee great things.
thanks kim…..for doing the research for us <3
V – I had no idea you were back in Canada! An incredibly belated congratulations to you & Tomas… Holden is adorable. Hope you guys enjoy…love their calamari & great place for a family-style dinner. Give my best to your parents, hope they’re doing well :)
I came across your blog today ~ and I must say I simply LOVE your list; I too have many of these local spots on mine. Thanks so much for sharing! :)
Thanks Angie! Much updating to be done & new categories to be added… let me know of a favourite (or five) that are missing from any of these.
Have you tried the fifth element on queen street? i am in love with Indian (or should I say fusion?) food again! Long story on why i started disliking indian food … but you should try them out
Yes I have :) Enjoyed a few yrs ago at their old location on Bay St. What are some of your favourite dishes?
